CPT Ische commissioned in 2016 from the United States Military Academy as an Armor officer and served with 2-14 Cavalry, 2nd IBCT, 25th ID out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii from 2016 to 2019. While there, CPT Ische served in positions as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Squadron S4. CPT Ische's second posting was with 1-4 Cavalry, 1st ABCT, 1st ID out of Fort Riley, Kansas where he served as a Brigade Plans Officer and Troop Commander of Bravo Troop, 1-4 Cavalry during a deployment in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

CPT Ische holds a Master of Science degree in Environment and Sustainability from the Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy with a Major in Geospatial Information Science.

CPT Ische's research is focused on the use of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) and their applications for forest management and wildlife conservation.
